Output suitability

We work hard to make the resizer accurate — exact output dimensions, EXIF orientation honored, honest resampling. Even so, you are responsible for checking that the result fits your purpose before you submit, publish or print it. This matters most for regulated uses: visa and passport applications, government forms, legal documents. A 600×600 file satisfies the numeric requirement; whether the photo meets all the other rules (head size, background, recency) is a separate check — for the US photo spec specifically, a dedicated checker exists at photochecker.passports.pics.

Platform dimensions

The sizes in our social media cheat sheet reflect what the platforms document and display at the time of writing. Platforms change layouts without notice; we update the table when they do, but we can’t guarantee a dimension is current on the day you read it. When a platform publishes its own spec, that spec wins.
